By buying a trial chapter, a book, or signing up for the waitlist, you agree to these terms. We have tried to keep them short and human. If something is unclear, email hello@nimmyandbee.com and ask.

What you are buying

How AI generation works

Your chapter is created with AI tools. AI does some things beautifully and some things unevenly. Minor stylistic choices we would not have made ourselves, illustrations that do not match your photo pixel for pixel, small wording quirks: these are part of how the tool works and are not defects.

We refund or regenerate when something is genuinely broken. Examples of genuinely broken: the wrong child's name printed, illegible art, a scene that does not make sense, missing pages. Examples that are not broken: a different art angle than you pictured, a phrasing choice you would have written differently, a colour you would have picked differently.

If you are unsure whether the trial chapter is for you, ask before you upgrade.

Refunds

Personalized goods exemption. Personalized goods, including your chapter and your book, are exempt from standard cooling-off return rights in Canada, the EU, the UK, and most other jurisdictions, because they are made specifically for you and cannot be resold. The refund terms above are what we offer beyond the legal minimum.

When the book becomes yours

Risk and ownership of the printed book transfer to you when it is delivered. Until then, if it gets lost in shipping, we will reship at no charge.

The price you paid for your book project is locked in once you upgrade. If our prices change while your book is being built, you keep your original price for chapters 2 through 12 and the print.

What you can do with the chapters and book

The personalized text and illustrations we make for you are yours to enjoy with your family. You can read them aloud, share them privately with the child's family, post a single page on social media if you want to brag about it. You cannot resell them, republish them as your own work, or use them in commercial projects.

Nimmy, Bee, and the Nimmy & Bee characters are our intellectual property. The personalized scenes featuring them are licensed to you for personal use only. We retain the rights to the underlying story framework, art style, and any narrative beats we develop across customers.

What we can do with the work

We may use versions of stories with identifying details changed or removed (different name, different photo, different setting) as examples in our marketing, on our website or social media, in product demonstrations, or as the basis for future Nimmy & Bee products. These versions will not identify your family.

If we ever want to feature your specific personalized story with your real names and real photos, we will ask your permission first.

What you cannot send us

By uploading, you confirm that you have the right to send us everything you send us. If a third party claims you uploaded their copyrighted material or shared a photo without consent, you will cover our reasonable costs of responding to that claim.

We may use automated tools to flag uploads that appear to include copyrighted characters, brand logos, or other content that violates these terms. If your upload is rejected, we will tell you and refund any payment for the rejected order.

Service as is

We are a small team building something new. We will work hard to keep the service running, but we cannot guarantee perfect uptime, perfect shipping windows, or that every AI generation will land the way you imagined. We will regenerate when something is broken (see the AI section above for what we mean) and refund when the issue is on our end.

Things outside our control

Some things are outside our control: print partner outages, postal delays, AI provider disruptions, severe weather events. We will communicate clearly when something like this affects your order, and we will reship or refund when delays make the project unworkable.

Account and access

You are responsible for the email and password you use with us. Do not share them. If you lose access, contact hello@nimmyandbee.com and we will help you recover the account after verifying you are the owner.

Liability

To the extent allowed by law, our total liability to you for any claim related to Nimmy & Bee is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of Ontario. If you are a consumer in another jurisdiction with stronger rights (EU consumer law, UK Consumer Rights Act, US state consumer law, Australian Consumer Law, and similar regimes), those rights still apply.

When these terms change

We will update this page if we change the deal. We will email anyone with an active book project at least 14 days before a material change takes effect.
